An Evening of Community, Connection, and Impact

On May 2nd, FeedNC welcomed nearly 280 guests to Gather at the Table—a meaningful evening centered on the power of community. Hosted at Donoghue’s Open Door, the night brought people together around a shared table to celebrate impact, connection, and the work still ahead. Through stories, shared meals, and collective generosity, the evening reflected what’s possible when a community shows up for one another.

Guests enjoyed a garden party experience, from the bourbon raffle and wine pull to the silent auction and AMFund international trips. The evening began with Bubbles on the Bricks, where guests mingled over delicious appetizers and cocktails before heading inside for the program.

The evening began with a warm and welcoming start from FeedNC’s new Chief Development Officer, Karen Belgrader, who quickly put the room at ease with her humor, assuring guests she’s a “fun Karen,” not a bad one. Her lighthearted introduction set the tone for a night rooted in connection, joy, and shared purpose.

She was followed by Angela Kline, FeedNC’s Chief Executive Officer, who spoke about the Donoghue’s Open Door community, and the connection and belonging found there every day.

Guests then gathered around the table for an incredible family-style meal, thoughtfully prepared by Chef Brendan and Chef Paolo and FeedNC’s Culinary Workforce Development students, many of whom were present in the room that night. The meal itself became a reflection of the mission: bringing people together, creating opportunity, and nourishing both body and spirit.

Later in the evening, Chief Operating Officer Brittany Holbert shared David’s story, highlighting the life-changing impact of FeedNC’s Workforce Development program and the power of showing up for one another in meaningful ways.

As the room settled into a shared sense of purpose and community, the stage was set for the paddle raise to follow.

The evening continued with an inspiring paddle raise led by the incredible emcee, Molly Grantham, whose energy and heart invited guests into a powerful moment of generosity.

While we are still finalizing the total amount raised, we are thrilled to share that this year’s paddle raise has already surpassed last year’s—an incredible testament to the compassion and commitment of this community.

Thank you to everyone who gave so generously, participated in the raffles, bid in the silent auction, and leaned into the spirit of the evening. Every dollar raised helps move our mission forward, creating real impact for neighbors across our community.

Ending on a High Note

The evening wrapped with desserts, dancing, and plenty of laughter as guests lingered a little longer, soaking in the joy of the night. It was a fitting close to an evening filled with connection, generosity, and shared purpose. One that will carry forward in the lives of those impacted long after the last song plays.
