Launch, a subsidiary of the FeedNC Workforce Development Program, aims to empower individuals with the skills and resources necessary to become successful entrepreneurs. Through market research, business planning, and financial literacy, we provide our workforce development graduates with the tools they need to create sustainable businesses to provide for their families and contribute to their communities.
Program Overview: Focusing on equipping individuals with the knowledge and support required to start their own businesses. The pilot program will (annually) select one graduate of the Workforce Development Program who will be awarded an entrepreneurial focus, providing them with specialized guidance and resources to develop their business idea and pursue an LLC or sole proprietor status.
Entrepreneurship Introductory Course: Each student enrolled in the Workforce Development cohort will receive 2 hours of education on an "introduction to Entrepreneurship".
Graduates from the Workforce Development Program who show a strong interest in entrepreneurship will be eligible to apply for entrepreneurial focus. (Applications to open April 1, 2024).
Interested graduates will be required to submit applications which will ask them to propose their business ideas, work experience, credit scores, potential funding sources, and other applicable information. Denied applicants will be offered a personalized coaching session and educational materials on how to get to the next step (Maximum 20 students).
