Nicole M. Deal, MSN, RN, NEA-BC: Nicole is currently a Chief Nursing Officer for Atrium Health. As a healthcare leader with 20 years of clinical and operational leadership service, Nicole has had a successful career at Atrium Health. Nicole has had many notable experiences and successes with capacity management, disaster response, diversity/inclusion, virtual services, professional development, mentorship, and more. Nicole has served on the FeedNC Board since 2020. She believes food and food security are the gateway to a person’s best health. Nicole states “Healthcare isn’t just about acute illness, it is about life changes and managing one’s overall health, and food is the key to health.”  “FeedNC helps to ensure the availability of food is not a barrier for anyone in our community.” As a child, Nicole experienced first-hand food insecurity and fully understands its impact on one’s life. Nicole fully promotes and supports FeedNC and its mission for the community it serves. Nicole believes the overwhelmingly positive impact FeedNC has on the community is a true testament to the amazing volunteers and staff. Nicole currently serves as the Executive Board Secretary.
